What equipment is needed for water birth?

The necessary equipment for water birth is important to ensure that the birth occurs safely for both the mother and the baby.

• Inflatable Birth Pool or Acrylic Birth Pool
• Disposable liner for the inflatable pool
• Thermometer (to check the water temperature)
• Strainer

Before heading to the birth center, you may want to bring the following items to make yourself more comfortable:

• Clothes you can wear in the water (some mothers may choose to stay naked in the water),
• Plenty of isotonic drinks and water to drink,
• Light snacks (such as yogurt and fruit parfaits),
